This is a most excellent camera for the price, but documentation for it really stinks. If you bought it hoping to use it for its night vision features, you may have been disappointed if you just plugged it in and expected it to work. Here's how it works. There are a pair of wires going from the lens housing to terminals on the PCB board labelled "IR CUT". Those control a solenoid inside the housing that moves the IR cut filter out of the way. Your image will change to a B&W image, but it will be more sensitive to the IR part of the spectrum. There is another connector on the board labelled CDS, which is supposed to go to a photocell that will detect when it gets dark, that will trigger the solenoid. The simplest way to control the filter is to short the two pins on the CDS connector together and after about 1 sec you will here a 'click' as the filter moves out of the way and your image will change. Be aware though that the current draw to hold the solenoid in place could be 200mA or more (I have no idea what it actually is) and it could affect your battery life if you are using this on a battery controlled device. Have fun!

I just got this camera and was concerned at first that the IR feature was not working. It only displayed color video and was not much better than a regular camera for low light. After reading another post I discovered that I had to use the CDS port to switch modes. It does take one to two seconds for the IR mode to kick in but has excellent quality video in both modes and the IR works well in very low light. This is a great option for FPV if you plan to fly in dark areas.
